French Toast for One or Two using Portuguese Sweet Bread

Happy New Year’s! This French toast was so delicious for breakfast this morning that I had to post it before the New Year was over. This is a follow up to my Portuguese Sweet Bread in the Mini Zo, Updated.

Unbelievably tasty with the lemon touched sweet bread smothered in Michigan maple syrup. I always need a glass of cold milk with this kind of breakfast and some fresh fruit.

French Toast for One or Two using Portuguese Sweet Bread

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp. sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 slices of Portuguese Sweet Bread, cut into 3/4-inch to 1-inch slices
  • unsalted butter

Melt the butter in a large skillet and get it sizzling. Combine the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and  mix well. Dip the sweet bread into the egg mixture a  few seconds on  each side. Cook the French toast until golden brown on  both sides.
