Candy Kisses and Mini Oreo Chocolate Covered Cookies

Well, I was hoping to make a strawberry dessert using Baileys Strawberries and Cream liqueur, but the strawberries have not been that good. Not surprising as it is winter here in Michigan but sometimes we do get some very juicy and flavorful berries mid-winter but not in time for Valentine’s Day this year. I will make the cupcakes as soon as the strawberries are worthy!

So instead I am bringing you these simple mini oreos covered in dark chocolate and topped  with candy kisses. I have two kinds of kisses; lava cake kisses with a gooey chocolate center and Hershey’s hugs – milk chocolate hugged by white creme. Double yum!

For lots more Oreo mini and regular Oreo treats just search Oreos and you will find many holidays, gardening, football and so on.

I am serving these chocolate treats with a glass of the strawberry liqueur that was first introduced back in 2018. Think strawberry ice cream! Perfect over ice or maybe in a smoothie/ shake and when I can make them; strawberry cupcakes. Beware as this liqueur is a limited edition so go and get your bottle now before the stores run out. That happened to me last year!

The ingredients…

Merckens dark chocolate wafers for melting…

The mold with slight indentations for the “kisses”. I love this “bling” glitter with gold hearts…

  1. Judi, what a fun candy/cookie. We don’t have mini Oreos over here, but they sound yummy, especially tucked into those lovey chocolates.

  2. I’ve never seen the sugar glitter with gold hearts. I love it. It’s so much fun. I’m going to have to look for it next year.

    • I need to take a better picture of the glitter as it seems a little blurry. The gold hearts really stand out. Just wanted to let you know I am working hard on my pasty post – a lot more work than I thought it would be. You know how research goes… So, hopefully I will make them and post my results – I’m very pleased 🙂

      • Yes, I definitely know how research goes – but it sounds like you are finding some interesting things. This is exciting. (Maybe I’m reading too much into your comment – but I took it to mean that you are finding some things as you conduct research, as opposed to just hitting walls and dead ends). I’ll look forward to the post whenever it is ready.
