Baked Potatoes on the Grill

Such an easy thing to grill and great to do whether you are cooking for one or two or a crowd.

  • baked potatoes (the ones I used are 11-12 oz. each)
  • oil to rub on skins

Wash and dry whole potatoes and prick them with a fork or knife a couple of times (see comment below), rub them with oil and then wrap in foil and cook on high for 1 hour (more or less depending on the size of your potatoes), turning once (I use an electric grill).  Try to buy uniform potatoes so they will cook the same.

Brats, corn on the cob and baked potatoes…

Comment:  To poke your potatoes or not to poke?  I have always poked my potatoes and I have never had a potato explode but I do know someone whose potato did and created quite the mess because they did not poke them.   It does not happen often apparently but I am the type who does not like to take any chances so I poke them a couple of times with a fork or knife.
