Fish and Chips

Once in a while I will fry something and fish and chips is one of those recipes.

Fish and Chips

  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil

Combine above batter ingredients and mix until smooth.

  • 1 lb. fish fillets, cut into serving pieces
  • 1 lb. potatoes, thinly  sliced
  • vegetable oil for frying

Cook potato slices first in the vegetable oil until crisp and brown; remove and keep warm.  Dip the fish in the batter and fry until golden brown.

Serves 4
