French Herb Cheese Spread

There are a lot of ingredients in this spread but I really like all of the flavors and the way they blend together.  You can certainly cut this recipe in half as it does make quite a lot – this was a favorite of Gene’s.

French Herb Cheese Spread

  • 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 lb. butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 dashes Tabasco
  • 1 tsp. dill
  • 2 tsp. chives
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. tarragon
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 tsp. fines herbes
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1-1/2 tsp. fresh lemon juice

Combine all ingredients and mix well; refrigerate overnight.  If you have fresh herbs by all means use them, just adjust the quantities.   Serve at room temperature with vegetables or crackers.  Gene always liked this spread on crackers.
