I have had two bread machines over the years, the Zojirushi 2 lb. and the Mini Zojirushi which is a 1 lb. machine. After much use with the 2 pounder I gave it to a niece and bought a Mini Zo which suited our lifestyle (and eating habits much better). There are many, many brands out there but this is the one King Arthur Flour promoted and sold and is what I bought.
You are not limited to sandwhich breads, you can prepare dough for pizza, buns and breadsticks. I make a recipe for Maple Buttermilk Bread that I use for french toast. The possibilities are endless…
The 1 pounder is the perfect size for a small family. You do not have to knead the dough, wait for yeast to rise and a perfect gadget to use for convenience and when the weather is hot! It has an easy to read LCD control panel and a 13 hour delay timer. Settings include French bread, dough, cookie/pasta dough, cake, jam and quick bread.
My niece with a 2 lb. loaf of perfect bread from the machine I gave her!
Should you invest in a bread machine I highly recommend this book by Lora Brody, Bread Machine Baking. For each recipe the author provides ingredients and directions for all of the different brands of bread machines in a very easy to read format.
