Both of these salad dressings are excellent to serve over spinach. One recipe is sweet and the other recipe comes from my Dad which has a liqueur in it.
Spinach Salad
Sweet and Sour Dressing:
- 1/8 cup sugar (or less)
- 1 tsp. dried, minced onion, soaked in a little water to rehydrate it
- pinch of dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp. water
- 2 tbsp. ketchup
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 1/2 cup canola oil
Irish Mist Dressing:
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup Irish Mist Liqueur
- 3 tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 3 tbsp. honey (I have used only 2 tbsp. and it’s still delicious)
- 6 tbsp. canola oil
Combine ingredients and serve over spinach. I like to add bacon bits, croutons, mushrooms and maybe some hard boiled eggs chopped up.
