A few years ago my sister Marna, mentioned it would be nice to have a gravy for a pork tenderloin I grilled. So, I did a little searching and came up with this recipe. Very basic and simple – I like the addition of soy sauce and she did too! I just checked the dates on the pictures below and it was July, 2016. Oops – this is an old draft!
Gravy for Pork Tenderloin
- 3 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup flour
- 14 oz. beef stock
- 2 tsp. low sodium soy sauce (enough salt in the soy sauce)
- dash or two of ground black pepper
Melt the butter and saute the onions for about 5 minutes. Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Whisk in the broth, soy sauce and a dash or two of black pepper. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened.

Note: This recipe was created using the old Word Press. Another draft I am finally posting… would have been nice to have an Easter post instead!
This recipe is also a good choice with your pasties. The miners in the UP didn’t have this choice!

Such a good idea to add soy sauce to gravy! I’ll keep it in mind. 🙂
Soy sauce often adds a bit of umami 🙂
So true! 🙂
Sounds perfect for a nice pork tenderloin meal. Better late than never. 😊
Thanks – I recently moved and haven’t done much cooking. Downsizing is a pain 🙂
