We all like Sriracha Sauce or some kind of hot sauce, don’t we? I sure do and this recipe is a perfect example of what “heat” can do to a cracker. This comes from the latest Martha Stewart Living magazine and looked simple and a sure winner for a holiday snack this weekend. I mean maple syrup, butter, sriracha and thyme – how could this recipe go wrong. Four favorite ingredients to cook with and these crackers are delicious.

Fiery Sriracha Oyster Crackers
- 1/4 cup maple syrup ( no Aunt Jemima please)
- 3 tbsp. Sriracha (use less if you do not like so much heat, but this amount was perfect for me)
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 4 cups oyster crackers (I used a 9 oz. bag as there was plenty of sauce)
- 6 thyme sprigs
Preheat your oven to 275°F. Mix the first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over the crackers and thyme in a mixing bowl and toss gently to coat all of the crackers. Spread out on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet. Cook until coating is set for about 45 minutes, stirring at 15 minute intervals.
Let cool completely and separate any crackers that stuck to each other. These fiery crackers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
