There is something fabulous about a grilled sandwich in a Panini maker. See Kitchen Gadgets – Panini Maker. So many sandwiches are too big, you can barely get them in your mouth and there is always too much to eat. With a panini, all the ingredients are very thin and make for a compact sandwich. A favorite with my husband; Whole Foods bread, prosciutto, provolone…
Panini with Prosciutto and Provolone
- country bread from Whole Foods, sliced
- mayonnaise
- prosciutto, sliced very thin
- provolone, sliced very thin or grated (or use Fontina)
- red onion slices, separated into rings
- tomato slices
- red leaf lettuce or baby spinach
Assemble your sandwich and grill in a Panini maker, grill pan such as Le Creuset or just on a regular skillet/griddle.
