These tiny “petite pois” were a favorite vegetable in my garden. I really enjoyed the tiny vegetables, maybe because I could eat them as I was picking them. Tender enough to eat fresh off the vine, but you have to pick them on a regular basis. Now, I buy them at the grocery store in the freezer section (Bird’s Eye has an excellent product).
Herb Buttered Peas
- 10 oz. pkg. frozen peas
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp. minced onion (dried and rehydrate in a little water)
- salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
Cook the peas according to package directions. Add remaining ingredients and heat through. And if they are fresh from your garden, just enjoy…
