This is an excellent, creamy appetizer that you can use as a dip for veggies, chips or as a condiment for your fajitas. Unfortunately, it does not keep well. You can make this up to 4 hours ahead of time and keep refrigerated. Lower fat ingredients for the sour cream and whipping cream can be used.
Avocado Sour Cream Dip or a Condiment for your Fajitas
- 2 ripe avocados, seeded, peeled and roughly chopped
- 1-1/2 cups sour cream
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt, or to taste
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco, or to taste (I recommend at least 1/2 tsp.)
Combine the avocados, sour cream and whipping cream in your blender until smooth. Add the salt and Tabasco and give it a quick mix. This is a light green, yummy dip which was a big hit. It is just as good as a condiment for your beef fajitas!

This sounds so delicious!
This sounds delicious!
I think I would love this as a condiment to all Mexican style cuisine! It’s such a shame avocados turn on us so quickly… all the more reason though to eat it up quickly! As a dip, this is a great alternative to the typical recipes out there… love it! 🙂
It really is good Nancy and so creamy – I would put it on anything Mexican as well. It needs a little kick so adjust seasonings to your taste 🙂
Yesss!! I need this in my life, guacamole and sour cream are pretty much my two favourite things to dip in or spread, so this is like an amazing combination of the two! I think I would add a dash of lime juice too to mine, because I have an unhealthy obsession with lime on avocado!
This is a favorite whether I use it as a dip or as a condiment. Lime juice would really be nice Michelle 🙂
Yum! This looks so delicious Judi!
I have an insane passion for avocado… your dip looks delicious!
Me too Margy 🙂

Avocados are so good Chitra and this dip is a perfect way to use them 🙂
