After a little experimenting I finally found a banana cream pie my husband liked.  It requires a little work with a homemade pastry and filling but it is worth the effort.  The surprise ingredient is Michigan Maple Syrup.

Green Beans with Caramelized Onions

Nothing better than caramelized onions; the slow cooking brings out their natural sweetness.  Green beans are a perfect vegetable to go with these fabulous onions.  If you cannot get beans fresh, the grocery stores carry a fairly good packaged product.

Broccoli Slaw with Nuts and Dried Cherries

This is a very easy salad to put together.  I like the taste and the texture of the dried cherries, the toasted nuts and seeds and the crunch of the Ramen and rice noodles.  A little sweet and a little salty – perfect!
