Tex Mex Dip

If you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer to serve this recipe is the answer.  There are a lot of tasty ingredients  in this delicious dip.

  • 3-4 ripe avocados
  • 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • green chilies to taste, chopped (I use 2 small cans)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup Hellmann’s
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
  • 2 cans refried beans
  • green onions, chopped
  • tomatoes, chopped
  • cheddar cheese, grated

Mash avocados with lemon juice in a bowl and add the green chilies.  Sometimes I will add a fresh jalapeno pepper, minced.  Combine sour cream, mayonnaise and taco seasoning in another bowl.

Assemble by first spreading refried beans on the bottom of a 9×13-inch serving dish.  Cover with the mashed avocados and lemon juice and then spread with the sour cream mixture.  Add chopped tomatoes and onions, then some grated cheese.
