Oven Roasted Baby Cabbages

I wanted to post this recipe because of the baby cabbages I found while on a shopping trip at Trader Joe’s. I rarely use a large cabbage in one recipe except for cabbage casserole or Stuffed Cabbage Rolls and then have to look for ways to use it up such as in soups. Roasting large cabbage steaks are awkward (to slice) and these baby ones are much easier to manage. So, I highly recommend these beauties if you can find them – look in specialty grocery stores or Trader Joe’s.

I love baby veggies!

Roasted perfectly!

Cabbage steaks were a nice side with ham…

Perfectly roasted; brushed with olive oil and seasoned lightly with garlic and  onion  powders, sweet paprika

Large cabbage steak with same seasonings as the baby cabbage steaks…

Oven Roasted Baby Cabbages

  • baby cabbages (these are much easier to slice and work with)
  • olive oil
  • sweet paprika
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • salt if desired

Trim off the hard core and slice each cabbage into steaks. Brush with olive oil and season with ingredients of your choice. I used garlic and onion powders and sweet paprika. Roast for 25 minutes at 425 degrees or until the steaks are nicely browned and tender.
