Salami Roses

A salami rose is a must for your next charcuterie platter. So easy to assemble and adds some real interest to your board – everyone will ask how you made it. Combine it with other meat, cheese, dips, nuts, fruit, etc. for a stunning presentation. Because I am interested in charcuterie ideas on Pinterest these roses keep popping up in my frequent Pinterest emails. Amazing how my computer knows what I like!

I envision one on a charcuterie board like this that I made a few years ago

Salami Roses

  • thinly sliced hard salami circles (you want them to be flexible), round ham or pepperoni would be good too
  • glasses with small openings (I used 2-4/16 and 2-10/16
  • I used Boar’s Head salami which has 20 thin slices per package
  • for presentation you could also add some large mint, basil or rosemary leaves  around your rose

For the small roses I used 10 thin slices and for the larger salami roses I used 20.

All you do is fold each slice in half and place over the rim of your glass; press into the side of the glass. Overlap each slice all around and add as many as you want. Turn the glass over and voila you have a rose!

    • Thanks – it would look good on any board you choose. Asparagus would not be for me (not into that veggie). The green of the asparagus and the reddish color of the meat would go nice together 🙂

    • They are extremely easy to make; just fold, drape over the glass and overlap as you go around the glass. Use as many slices as you want – I should have added some green leaves like mint, basil or even some rosemary leaves 🙂
