Here is another fun project your children might enjoy doing (the older ones) and this too comes from the Food Network Magazine. All you need is some parchment paper and some veggies. I’m sure other kinds of paper would work too – just experiment.
You cannot just have chicken wings, chili and goodies like that – you need some healthy and simple food too for the big game tomorrow. Serve with your favorite dip or search “dips” on my site for some good recipes.
- parchment paper
- ruler
- pencil
- various veggies cut in strips; I used celery, carrots, peppers and green onions
Cut up all of your veggies about 4 to 5-inches long in nice strips.
Cut out 8 or 10-inch squares of parchment paper; as many as you need for your party. I made 10-inch for demonstration purposes but I think I will go with the 8-inch tomorrow.
8 and 10-inch squares
Place each parchment paper on a flat surface and fold into a triangle.
Then fold one point of the triangle to the other side where it is straight across. Do the same with the other side.
Fold down one layer of the top flap and crease it over the outermost panel. Then tuck it into that panel. Voila! You have a vessel to hold crudities for your guests.
If the cup is too floppy fold the sides over and tape them as below.
I am sharing this great idea with Angie at Fiesta Friday and her two co-hosts Julianna @ Foodie on Board and Lily @ Little Sweet Baker.

So cute thanks for sharing this idea!!
Thanks – this is one appetizer I can get ready today and just assemble tomorrow night 🙂
Yex for sure!!
This is awesome Judi! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Antonia – it’s a little “healthier” having them in individual servings versus everyone touching a veggie platter 🙂
Especially this time of year 🙂
Exactly 🙂
Wow, great idea! And much more sanitary than having people grab the veggies with their fingers from a big plate.
Thanks – lots of germs this time of the year. Especially with kids – they want to touch everything 🙂
Great idea and you’re right, we all need to balance all our game day foods tomorrow with something healthy and fresh. Thanks for sharing:)
Thanks Lily – simple to make and a good thing to serve with all of the other heavier dishes 🙂
Very cool!
Thanks – I thought so too 🙂
Those cups are so cute and very creative. 🙂
Thanks Jhuls – so easy to make any time of the year 🙂

You’re welcome Chitra 🙂
Love the idea, that is very useful and cute. Thanks for sharing Judi and enjoy the rest of the weekend! 🙂
Thanks Linda – perfect to make ahead of time and assemble when needed 🙂
Love this Judi! Just steps up a crudite platter to the next level.
Also a little healthier – veggies are always good and serving them in these cups helps keep the “germs” away.
I love the say no to germs! I don’t like the way people don’t mind using their hands to serve themselves.
Judi, I love the creative cups and am sure everyone feels so special getting their own cup.Perfect for super bowl!
Thank you Sandhya – they obviously can be made to taste. I have one family member who just loves carrots 🙂
Great healthy addition to a party Judi. Love the wee packets, very creative and unusual!
We need something healthy for our parties don’t we Loretta. This is a good and easy way to serve these veggies 🙂
How interesting and creative these paper cups look Aunt Juju. Nice way to make kids eat something healthy without complaining👍☺
Thanks Ana – the cups are easy to make and the kids can choose their own veggies 🙂

Thanks – they were easy to make 🙂
My gals would love these in their lunchboxes – they look so crisp and fresh.
Your girls could most certainly make them too and pick out their own veggies, right?
you’re darn tootin’ 🙂
That is such a wonderful idea, this is on my schedule to try this week.
The pouches are so easy to make and a good alternative to the typical veggie platter 🙂
Super cute
