Could you even begin to guess what post/recipe of mine received this many views (24,458 total) out of more than 700 posts? Instead of reposting it I am providing a link in case you would like to see the recipe. It happens to be Stuffed Cabbage Rolls – Weight Watcher’s Version. There are obviously a lot of Weight Watcher devotees out there and a lot of people who like stuffed cabbage rolls. I have two other versions of cabbage rolls and they have not even come close to this many views. Here are the links for Cabbage Casserole and Stuffed Cabbage Rolls in the Slow Cooker.
The following are the stats for how many views I have received beginning in November, 2011 when I first posted this recipe.
- 2011 – 3
- 2012 – 59
- 2013 – 1,796
- 2014 – 22,600
NOTE: 6 MONTHS LATER (MAY 2, 2015) THE TOTAL IS 34,145 – 10,000 ADDITIONAL VIEWS!!!!!
How do I think this happened? Pinterest without a doubt! On the stats page of wordpress you can see who the referrers are and there is always a bunch from Pinterest. I wish I could track the “first pin” up until now. There is one blogger who has a lot of followers and he gets a lot of pins and then it goes on and on! I am certainly not complaining – I guess I would just like to understand it more and thank everyone.
I am thrilled to have this much interest in a recipe, especially one from Weight Watcher’s. I have a lot of recipes from WW’s as I am a Lifetime Member for almost 10 years now. For me this is the best weight loss program ever. However, I need to get back on the program as the weight has been creeping up on me a little at a time.
Unfortunately, I am not very active on any other social media such as Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and others. So, this interest in cabbage rolls has a life of its own, so to speak! I seem to be on the computer enough just with my wordpress blog. I do not want to turn into a “computer potato” 🙂
I had been posting, rather than blogging for the past few years, just to get all of my recipes online for my benefit, friends and family as well. Earlier this year I started to participate in a weekly Fiesta Friday party and have been more active with other bloggers as a result. As a matter of fact this is when I received most of my likes (10) and comments (17 including my responses) and they are mainly bloggers from this party. Nancy @nancycreative.com made the last comment on November 8th! So, how did they hear about it as it was one of my first posts at the end of 2011?
What can be said – it is nice to hear from people that are genuinely interested in my recipes – we all need encouragement and a “pat on the back” for posting a recipe someone can use. I do believe that there are more than 10 out of 20,000 who like this recipe. I know I am guilty of getting a recipe and not letting the author know whether I liked it or giving comments, or even telling them that I made it and it was delicious.
So, a big thanks to all. I appreciate the interest in my blog and I also appreciate all of the recipes/ideas I have used from other people, whether through a book, magazine, cookbook or food shows. Want more traffic – start pinning 🙂
Yes, that is me in the overalls in my old country garden with lots of cabbage growing

Wow. Such an interesting concept
Thanks – I have been tracking this post and all of this technology just amazes me 🙂
Wow…Amazing how the “views” ballooned all thanks to Pinterest. Of course, the deliciousness and healthy aspects of the recipe certainly help as well. 🙂
Yes, it really is Nancy, especially in 2014. WW recipes are popular on my site and I try to provide a good variety such as this one 🙂
woooow! So many views, congratulations! It’s great when something like that happens, suddenly one of your post goes viral and WOW! haha it’s amazing 🙂
I’m definitely checking out the recipe 😛 !
Thanks – not a million views, but I will take over 22,000 🙂
Isn’t it interesting, Juju. My most viewed post is my crispy caramelized onion. One of my first posts and still going strong. Before that, was how to use chopsticks. It really is amazing. 😉
Thanks for your comment Fae – it really is interesting. I am hoping another post will be the most viewed but it would have a long way to go to catch up to my “Stuffed Cabbage Rolls”. If some blogger has a strong following and people start to pin it, Facebook and so on a post can really take off 🙂 I will have to check out your crispy caramelized onion – a favorite!
I’m not involved in too many social media options and have no intention of doing more than I am now. I have been on FB for my blog (helps notifications and additional fun and mini posts) and lately started Pinterest. That is as far as I can handle (for now at least)… and probably, meanwhile, many more social media options would pop in. 😀 )))
Wow that is amazing. I must start cooking some lean things to boost my statistics. Thanks for the tip!
Liz – You already have a great site that is popular with so many. Weight Watcher’s recipes just happen to be favorites on my blog 🙂
I have “pinned” a few of your recipes so that I would remember that I want to try them. I always wondered if you were notified of that, but it sounds like wordpress doesn’t do that? Anyway, you have some really great recipes here on your blog…I look forward to trying some of them!
Occasionally I have been notified but not very often. I do not quite understand the whole thing! Thanks – I do like to share 🙂
How funny – such a humble dish, as well! But you reminded me that I haven’t stuffed cabbage leaves in a long time, I can feel the nostalgia welling up in me and have this urgent desire to either pin your picture or make the dish, or both … 😉
That’s what I thought too Ginger. We love our German food – sauerbraten and the works are a favorite and of course Stuffed Cabbage Rolls 🙂
Wow amazing, congratulations … am also not much involved in other social media’s just fb and wordpress but never knew pintrest could make wonders… great job aunt Juju. …
Thanks Chitra – I have no idea how it started and why it is continuing. The stats on wordpress give you info as to where the interest is coming from. I do have other pins and Facebook views but this one has me baffled 🙂
I loved that post. As a fairly new blogger, it shows me your progress, and I think we have a lot in common so there is hope yet for my little blog! I love your huge garden! That is a lot of work, but you sure make the most of it!
All of this computer stuff does confuse me. I need to spend some time trying to learn more – maybe this winter! Thanks – that was my country garden when I was younger and I have a much smaller one now. Only 3 raised beds plus my herb and flower gardens 🙂
I am scaling mine down next year too. I am with you on the computer stuff. I don’t read like I used to and am spending more time than I like on the computer. I’ll figure out a balance one of these days. 🙂
