This syrup is especially good over Apple Pancakes with Cider Syrup. Try it on crepes, ice cream or any apple dessert.
- 1/4 cup sugar (I like to use less)
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 2/3 cup apple cider or apple juice
- 1 cinnamon stick (2 inches long)
- dash of ground nutmeg
In a small saucepan, combine the first 3 ingredients; add the cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for a couple of minutes or until thickened. Discard cinnamon stick; add the dash of nutmeg and serve warm.
