HAPPY HALLOWEEN with another punch, but this is for adults only. Who does not like Halloween? One of my favorite holidays with all of the adorable kids dressed up in their costumes having fun, lots of decorations and treats and hopefully not too many tricks!
We were known as Mr. & Mrs. Pumpkin for a few years. Guess who is behind those masks? Gene and I had fun right along with all of the kids 🙂
This past spring when I saw this bottle of wine while visiting Sandhill Crane Vineyards I had to buy it; planning ahead for Halloween. There are so many different punches to make; just find one where you like the ingredients. I am a red wine drinker and occasionally like to drink spicy wine, so I knew I would like this punch.
Zomgria from Sandhill Crane Vineyards
- 1 bottle Night of the Living Red wine (most stores have scary, spicy red Halloween wines – see comment below)
- 2/3 cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2-3 tbsp. sugar
- a few ice cubes
- 2/3 cup chilled club soda
- 1/4 orange, thinly sliced
- 1/4 lemon, thinly sliced
Thoroughly chill all ingredients. Pour the wine into a punch bowl. This recipe makes a small batch of punch so I used my trifle dish. Add orange juice, lemon juice and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the ice cubes and club soda and garnish with fruit slices.

Comment: Night of the Living Red is a semi-sweet red seasoned with cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and orange peel. A perfect pairing with the other ingredients in this punch. It is good served hot or cold.
I also included Revenge of the Living Red from Sandhill as well. It is a semi-sweet spiced red wine good either chilled or warmed up. This wine is guaranteed to keep the zombies away as jalapenos give it an extra kick. Oh yes – you can taste the jalapenos!!!
Those are my jalapenos but not my tomatoes as they were done for the season!

Wait, the wine was spiced up with jalapenos already, or did you add them yourself? Either way, I wanna try it! Or at least try it on my friends, haha! 🙂
This seasonal wine is spiced with jalapenos. What a surprise when I did a “taste test” at the winery. It sure does warm you up as it goes down!!! 🙂
This sounds delicious!
The wine is kicked up a notch with all the additions – I liked it 🙂 Now, the wine flavored with jalapenos is fiery!!!
