Apple Cider Autumn Sangria

Yes, I am still using my apple gifts and this Sangria was an excellent choice. It reminded me of when we lived in a new neighborhood, in a brand new home with a mixture of young families and older ones such as Gene and me. Beginning with Halloween we frequently would celebrate the occasion (or … Continue reading

A week ago I posted Candied Citrus for Sweet Desserts and I wanted to give an example of what you can do with these luscious bits of fruit.  From the pretzel crust (salty) to the chocolate filling (sweet) to the candied citrus it was pure heaven!  This recipe is adapted from a The Taste of the … Continue reading

Spinach, Avocado and Orange Salad for Two

Simple, delicious and a healthy recipe!   In my magazine  Cuisine Tonight “Thinner Dinners for Two”  this recipe was included for a perfect  winter salad which has oranges, avocados, spinach and a citrus dressing – no oil!  Actually, this salad would be good all year but the oranges are especially tasty right now.  These are … Continue reading

Your kitchen will smell wonderful… This recipe comes from … Continue reading

Cranberry Relish Two Ways

I have included two different recipes,  one has a little liqueur in it which was Gene’s favorite and the other version does not.  Both use fresh cranberries and have a nice orange flavor that goes perfectly with the cranberries.      You can see the pineapple design!

Pomegranate and Citrus Broccoli Salad

I always include this salad sometime during the holiday season.   Served with a turkey or ham adds a lot of bright color to your dinner table.  An interesting combination of ingredients that many of my friends and family enjoy.  See also my recipe Cooking Tidbits – How to Seed a Pomegranate.
