July is National Ice Cream month – makes sense as here in Michigan July is very humid, warm and this year wet! What better way to help cool you off than an ice cream milkshake. For adults only because this is not your typical milkshake as it is flavored with Baileys Strawberries and Cream liquor and homemade strawberry vodka.

Baileys Strawberries and Cream Milkshake
- 1 heaping cup of vanilla ice cream
- 1/2 cup Baileys Strawberries and Cream liquor
- 1/4 cup strawberry vodka (see recipe below)
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- whipped cream
- strawberry syrup
- fresh strawberries
- sprinkles
Strawberry Vodka (David Lebovitz “Drinking French”):
- cheap bottle of vodka
- fresh, red-ripened sweet strawberries
- 1 split vanilla bean (optional – I added)
- quart canning jar
Hull and quarter enough strawberries to fill a quart jar. Add the vodka and vanilla bean and seal with a lid. Shake the jar a bit to agitate the mixture.
Store in a dark cupboard for 3-7 days (I stored the mixture for 6 days). Put mixture through cheesecloth or strainer.
To assemble:
In a blender combine the ice cream, Baileys, vodka and frozen strawberries; pulse to blend.
Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream. Garnish with strawberry syrup, fresh strawberry and some sprinkles.

Judy, thanks for this recipe. I have a jar of homemade strawberry vodka in the fridge so I will be making this soon.
You’re welcome Bernadette. Flavored vodkas are so expensive (I have a few) so it was nice to use a cheap bottle of vodka and make my own!
I can’t wait! 🍃🍓🥃
🙂
Wow, does this recipe sound good! The strawberries in Texas are gorgeous right now and my refrigerator is full of them, but you can only eat so much strawberry shortcake. This would be a great signature drink for someone’s next summer party!
It was delicious – I could easily have one of these every day, especially when it’s hot! Lots of great strawberry flavor and a good way to use up those strawberries 🙂
So refreshing and tasty! I got some nice strawberries today, so will give it a try soon. 🙂
Thanks – no problelm drinking this strawberry treat 🙂
oh yum! i love that version of Bailey’s!
Me too Sherry – I keep looking for ways to use it besides just “sipping” it 🙂
YUM!
Yup! It went down too easily – nothing like a milkshake and a boozy one at that!
