It’s the end of the season for local corn here in Michigan and I have been wanting to try this recipe in one of my slow cookers. I cooked baked potatoes in the slow cooker and they turned out great so why not corn. Occasionally I will boil it but a preferred method is on the grill – that way it does not tie up my stove top or heat up the kitchen. Now, I have another method using a slow cooker and I like the results just as much as the grill.
So, when you are entertaining a crowd get out your slow cooker to help get your meal on the table. I have six slow cookers in different sizes so I am always ready to cook just about anything.
Corn on the Cob in the Slow Cooker
- fresh corn on the cob, you can break the corn cobs in half
- seasoned butter of your choice (I like pesto butter) or use unsalted butter and add your own spices or just use unsalted butter
Place each ear of corn on a sheet of aluminum foil. Spread the butter over the corn and roll up.
Cook on high for 2 hours. After 1 hour I turned the corn (5 ears) over, moved them around and cooked for another hour. Perfect…

Butter and sweet corn. I can almost whiff the amazing aroma 🙂
The pesto butter smelled and tasted wonderful on the corn Ana 🙂
What a grand idea Judi, I’ll bet they turned out just perfect with a bit of crunch to it? Love some of the unusual ways you present your dishes. Will definitely have to give this a try.
These are little tidbits for the family mainly and hopefully others will use the idea too. We use to do so much entertaining and big crowds too – I could have used some extra equipment 🙂 We do like our corn “crunchy” – just cook it to your taste, taking into consideration how many ears you have, the type of slow cooker.
Love the idea, Judy. Slow cooked foods have such a deeper taste to them, I feel….I hope I am making sense here:)
Mmmm pesto butter sounds delicious with it too.
With the pesto butter on the corn it just soaked up all that goodness in 2 hours of cooking Sandhya. I use to get your posts on a regular basis – I will have to see what happened!
I am going to try it, Judy. I know what you mean about missing posts. It happens to me too. I hope you find mine. i would miss you:(

this sounds really delicious! Our corn is pretty much gone, but still need to try this!
Ours is too !
I love this idea Judi! It would be a great way to cook up a bunch for other recipes. Sadly our produce is coming to an end too.
Most definitely to use in a salad or as an off-the-cob veggie !
