Yes, it’s true Maple Bacon Paczki to celebrate Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras. Paczki filled with yummy cream and topped with maple and bacon! I found these at my local Busch’s store in Ann Arbor, Michigan – how lucky can I get 🙂

I just went online and found out that Lazybones Smokehouse in Roseville, Michigan has been making these for about 5 years for their customers. Quoting “For folks tired of eating custard or jelly filled paczki every Fat Tuesday, they can revel in the fried dough covered in a maple glaze, then rolled around in “pig candy”, smoked bacon covered in brown sugar”. Busch’s version also had cream inside!
I’ve never heard of these before they do sound so very yummy and decadent. Thank you for bringing to the party.

I almost fainted in the grocery store. Normally, they are made with fruit or Bavarian creme but these certainly caught my eye! I will have to make my own next year…

I’m drooling, Judi! Paczki is the best part of Fat Tuesday in these parts. 😛 I’ve never seen this particular variety and it certainly sounds over the top delicious!
Did you get some Nancy? I saw on the news, people were lined up for a couple of hours just waiting for their Paczkis. I just walked into my local grocery store and found these. I had not planned on buying any (let alone making any) but when I heard someone say “maple and bacon” I rushed over to get a box as I just had to taste them 🙂
By the way Nancy, the stores make their own Paczki – these came from Busch’s.
