The original recipe comes from a fellow blogger, pattynguyen.wordpress.com. The name is “Triple Berry Green Smoothie”. She has a wonderful site with all kinds of good recipes and beautiful pictures – very professional! Patty is one of the new bloggers that I have met in the past few months at the Fiesta Friday parties and I have been enjoying reading her posts and now making one of her recipes. I know you will like her site and if you love dogs like I do you will also enjoy her cute dog “Bailey” 🙂
Any time I make a smoothie I look at the recipe and see if the ingredients suit my taste, or maybe it is just a matter of getting some more calcium in my diet, changing the greens, maybe substituting ice for the liquid, or because that was the fruit I had in my refrigerator. So anyways, this is my version of Patty’s recipe with just a few changes.
Fruit Smoothie with Kale and Almond Milk
- 2 large kale leaves, torn into small pieces
- 4 cucumber slices (quartered if the slices are big)
- 1 cup mixed berries (I used mangoes, raspberries and blueberries)
- 1 tbsp. chia seeds
- 1 tbsp. ground flax seeds
- 8 oz. unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- touch of honey or other sweetener (optional)
Blend all ingredients well. Like Patty I have a Nutribullet and it works great for smoothies! Cheers to a healthier you 🙂

I love this, Juju!! Yours turned out much greener than mine! Must be the delicious mango. 🙂 I’ve enjoyed your posts so much in the last few months and I’m so glad we “met” at Angie’s fiesta!
I am glad you like it Patty – I think the almond milk helped with the color too! It has been fun for the past few months 🙂
Looks so good! I hope to make these soon!
They are very tasty – so easy to make up your own version 🙂
