These sauces can be used for dipping items such as egg rolls or put in a sweet and sour recipe. The first recipe is sweeter and the one I have used for a long time. Recently, I have preferred the second one as it is not so sweet and has one of my favorite ingredients, Thai Chili Sauce.
Sweet and sour Sauce
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 2 tbsp. ketchup
- 2 tsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, or to taste
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring frequently until it thickens. You will notice a change in the color of the sauce, it will darken some and thicken.
