Dulce de Leche Candied Pecans

I always have some sweet nuts to serve guests during the holidays. They often are on a cookie table with other sweets or maybe bagged as gifts. Many nuts are wonderful lightly seasoned and/or sweetened. See three favorites at the bottom of this post. I see cashews in my future, another post from a fellow … Continue reading

Maple-Pecan Brown Sugar Cookies

It doesn’t take much to get me excited about a recipe when maple is one of the ingredients. I’m from Michigan where maple trees are aplenty which means lots of maple products such as syrup and fudge to name a few. In this cookie recipe there is maple syrup and maple extract in the dough … Continue reading

Pecan, Chocolate and Salted Caramel Candies

Ingredients for these candies have been sitting around in my pantry since the holidays. Such a simple dessert and I never got around to making them. Recently, I needed something sweet and remembered these candies. These are so good; nothing better than pecans, caramel, chocolate and a sprinkling of Fleur de sel.

Happy New Year and best wishes to everyone in 2015!  We had a great time and stayed awake to watch the grand finale of 2014 and the beginning of the New Year 🙂     This was the dessert  I served on New Year’s Eve.   This was like a pecan pie but with a twist, … Continue reading

Pecan Pie Tarts Two Ways

When you want a little taste of Pecan Pie make these yummy, bite-size desserts.  The first recipe comes from a sister’s mother-in-law.  I do not have the author for the second recipe but it looks real good.  See also my recipe for Pecan Pie.

Pecan Pie

This is the best pecan pie I have ever made or tried for that matter.  A thumbs up from my husband meant this pie recipe is a keeper.  It may seem like a lot of work to some but it is definitely worth it. Bon appetit!

Boston Lettuce with Goat Cheese, Cranberries and Pecans

This is a great Weight Watcher’s salad with only a points value of 2.  Lots of flavor with the cheese, cranberries and pecans.  I especially enjoy the soft, buttery textured leaves of Boston or Bibb lettuce. Serves 4 Weight Watcher’s recently came out with a slighly different version of this great salad.

Cherry and Pecan Stuffing

This stuffing is special as it not only has the traditional ingredients of bread, onions and celery, but pecans and dried cherries.  You could substitute cranberries for the cherries. See also my recipe for Traditional Bread Stuffing.  Last year I found a good one with sausage,  Sausage Stuffing in the Slow Cooker.  I always make … Continue reading
