Healthier Baked Beans Slow Cooked

Baked beans have always been a favorite side during grilling season. Funny how some dishes are seasonal and family oriented (at least for me anyways). I grew up with doctored up Campbell’s baked beans out of a can – Mom’s were deliciously sweet and always great in addition to her potato salad. We often got … Continue reading

Momofuku Crunchy Noodle Coleslaw with Sesame Soy Dressing

Before I talk about this deliciously spicy coleslaw from  Momofuku I would like to introduce you to a new product (for me anyways) called Chili Crunch or Chili Crisp. According to the New York Times “This chili crisp has a Momofuku pedigree.” The original idea came from Lao Gan Ma’s Chili Crisp Sauce which is … Continue reading

Mesa Grill Southwestern Potato Salad

Summertime is grilling and making recipes like potato salad. I have my favorite that every one likes but I also enjoy trying new recipes which compliment the main course. Chetna Makan’s Cauliflower Butter Masala

Obviously, this is a vegetarian version of the classic chicken butter masala but the cauliflower is roasted instead of sauteed. It is made with an onion tomato gravy and finished with cream. The ending result does depend on the spices you use and there are many. This recipe came to me from Food52 and as … Continue reading

Broccoli Slaw in Two Stir-Fries

Awhile ago I posted a recipe using a coleslaw mix in a stir-fry. Now, I would like to share with you another mix that makes stir-fries easier as well, but is still quite tasty. Broccoli slaw has 3 ingredients: broccoli, carrots and red cabbage – wonderful combination added to a meat of your choice and … Continue reading

Sheet Pan Shrimp Scampi with a Garlicky Lemon Butter Sauce

I love sheet pan dinners and most of all I love shrimps, especially when served with some veggies. The summer squash and zucchini were perfect sides and I served it over rice. The sliced baguette was brushed with the garlicky lemon butter sauce and the rest was combined with the shrimps.
