French Market Soup

This was a fun soup to make with all of the different beans and peas (13 different kinds – see Soup Mix)  I made up the soup mix and gave the beans to family and friends with this recipe.  Now you can buy soup mixes already made up but I still like to make up my own.

Leek and Potato Soup

I first made this soup when I grew potatoes and leeks in my garden one year.  Too many Colorado Potato Beetles (I tried not to use sprays and usually hand picked them off or got the eggs before they hatched).  That was the last year I grew potatoes!

Tomato Basil Parmesan Soup

Tomato soup is another ‘comfort food’ for me, good old Campbell’s Tomato Soup,  but when I want it to be really special I will make this.

Weight Watcher’s Vegetable Soup Two Ways

Both of these recipes are very good and even with the new point system in Weight Watcher’s the points value is still 0.   One recipe uses a slow cooker.   So, if I have a Banana Blueberry Muffin for breakfast I might have one of these soups for lunch.  It is all about moderation and balancing the … Continue reading

Just starting to cook… … Continue reading

Broccoli and Cheese Soup

A recipe from Weight Watcher’s that my husband gave his approval to.  It is not like Panera’s delicious soup but this recipe uses a lot more broccoli and has a lot less fat and salt.

Lentil Soup

This recipe is adapted  from a recipe of one of my favorite chefs, Ina Garten, or the Barefoot Contessa.  This soup is hearty, full of fiber and the meat gives the soup a nice flavor.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Everyone has a favorite Chicken Noodle Soup recipe and this is mine.  Very basic, very simple but oh so good!  This soup is tasty any time of the year when you could use some ‘comfort food.’ Carrots, celery and onions sauteed in oil just to soften.
